Apprenticeships and Internships
Restoration supports bridge and apprenticeship programs that help learners transition to their next level of education or profession.
Summer bridge programs help students prepare for college by providing academic skills, social resources and orientation to college life
Industry bridge programs help with licensing or certification processes for specific career tracks or professions
Apprenticeships can begin with learners in vocational programs in high school. The apprenticeships combine paid-on-the-job training with classroom instructions to prepare workers for stable and sustaining careers. Restoration promotes partnerships with job sectors to inform classroom instruction related to trades and professions, particularly in vocational education. Internships also provide an opportunity for learners to work in professional environments, explore potential career interests and develop valuable skills in high school and college. Apprenticeships, long-term, job specific training programs, last 1-4 years while internships which are more exploratory normally last less than one year.
